Strategic Summary Report

This report provides a comprehensive strategic evaluation of the MSAD #58 school district’s facilities. It explores a range of scenarios for possible school consolidation, grade reconfiguration, and student relocation. Each scenario has been developed in response to declining enrollment, facility condition data, and long-term operational considerations. The scenarios address key goals: improving facility utilization, maintaining equitable access to education, and minimizing long-term capital and operational costs.

Facilities Planning Community Survey

MSAD 58 is facing a projected budget crisis for the 2025–2026 school year due to increasing repairs and maintenance needs across its school facilities. In response, the School Board charged the Operations and Finance Committee to explore several options to repair and/or reconfigure district buildings, with careful consideration of the potential tax impact on member communities.

The purpose of the survey was to gather input from community members regarding their core educational values and to collect feedback on the school reconfiguration models under consideration. This input is intended to guide the Operations and Finance Committee to form recommendations to bring forward to the School Board. This will assist the School Board in making informed decisions that reflect community priorities while addressing financial and facility challenges.
